Regular Season Round 8: Titanes - Metros 100-106

The biggest surprise of round 8 in LNB took place in San Cristobal where guestMetros (#1) beat muchlower ranked Titanes (#6) by 6 points 106-100 on Wednesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Juan Guerrero (203-1993) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists and swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) added 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Metros and five Titanes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros maintains first position with 6-4 record. Defending champion Titanes dropped to the fourth place with five games lost.
